Lacrosse in the early 1900's

Lacrosse began to spread throughout the Unite States in the early 1900's. The first nations high school teams were founded in New Hampshire, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and New York. However, during these times, Lacrosse was more popular among European states. How was it that Lacrosse became of popular interest in the United States? In 1922, a European lacrosse team traveled to the United States to compete against various club teams along the east coast. This visit had a vital impact on the progress of lacrosse. From this experience, there began to be an emerging interest of lacrosse to white men in the United States. The first women's  lacrosse game was played in Fife, Scotland. Graduates from private schools in England brought Lacrosse to the United States. In 1931, a Women's Lacrosse Association was formed in Boston, Baltimore, New York, and Philadelphia.

  1. I have never tried lacrosse before, but it sounds interesting. I would've never imagined that a European lacrosse team that was coming to compete in America would have such a significant impact. Good job on the summary.
